Message: It's been almost Two years since that day in New York City and I still ask why? As Shannon's minor hockey coach I asked myself at times why. He reminded me at times that it was just a game win or lose. An incredible young man that is missed by everyone he touched in life.

Message: Life may be tough noing that you lost someone you loved. I would know, but we have to live with the fact that we can't get them back, and that's very hard to do. I had to live with what happened to the twin towers every day of my life, even though it happened 3 years ago it feals like it was only yesterday. Message: Shannon, not too many days go by when I do not think about you and all of the great times we shared as innocent boys. Whenever I see the Raiders play or the Islanders score, I think about your love of sports, whenever I go camping with my family or with my friends I think about the adventures we went on, and when I hear a band we used to listen to, Im am brought back to a time when we did not think of our own mortality, but of a future bright and unending. I now have a business of my own, 2 beautiful children and I once again get to see innocence develop. I cant help but feel guilt for having all this when you will not have that opportunity. I cant help but feel anger toward the people who took that away from you. I feel sorrow for your family and friends, as a parent now, the devistation of losing one of my own would be unbarable. not much time goes by when I do not think about the times we shared growing up in Star Lake, and I miss those times...Gwen, Lew, Mike, and Kylie, my thoughts and prayers are with you alway. Message: Shannon, As I sat during the moment of silence this morning, I could only think of you and wish this terrible thing did not happen and wonder why this had to happen to you - such a wonderful person, full of life and innocence. My family thinks of you often, my dad reflects on the days in the Star Lake Arena and I know he misses the days of watching you and the other guys playing and enjoying your childhood - wishing he could just turn back the clock to those days again - to see you smile and enjoy your life. I often look for an answer, or what I am going to tell my son when he asks me about this day. I know I will tell him about you, what a great role model you were to my brother, what a full, but short life you lived, fulfilling your dreams of moving away from the small town and into the big city and how proud you were. 5 years later, the devestation and the feeling of disbelief is still among all of us, as we all go on with our lives, raise our families, build our careers, you are in our thoughts and I can only hope some good will come out of all the pain your family has been forced to endure. My family and I will always think of you and your family.
